This work belongs to the four-part series "Rose n Red" that deals with the taboo topic of child abuse. The oval shape and the intense color remind of a vagina. The picture, indeed, got his name "Vaginal Eruptions" from the viewers and the artist renamed her work accordingly. Inside the oval have been embedded various toys, which were colored in red getting thus a signal effect. It's only upon closer examination that the viewer unterstands the complexity of this work. The toys are fragments and due to their fragmentary nature they are assigned a new significance. The viewer is tempted to check what's behind, would like to take the single parts and to piece them together again. For Kerstin Rajnar it was important to depict "the game of fear, grief, pain and happiness". "Here the color red says attention, but also stands for the fleshy, organic."[1]
