This oil painting was exhibited at „The Visible Vagina" and „Legitimate Vagina". Originally it was intended to be used as cover of Schor's book "Wet: On Painting, Feminism, and Art Culture". In the center of the painting is placed a slit standing out from the flesh-colored back ground thanks to its red color. The slit's shape reminds of a vaginal opening, this connotation is emphasized by its color, too. A semicolon is shown in the center of the vagina. By the use of punctuation marks the artist wants to give a voice to the vagina. Mira Schor about her work: "This painting is part of a series of "punctuation mark paintings". The paintings were created upon the concept of a gynecological exam where language is found in the position described by the male western culture as the home of irrationality, chaos and darkness.[1]
