From the 1990s on, Schneemann has no longer exhibited her nude body actively in her performances. Instead, she has presented photos and videos of her vulva as shown in this multimedia artwork. The installation consisted of 17 motorized violins and slide projectors showing 360 slides in a loop.[1] The multi-image body-centered and sensual presentation refers to images of the nude female body in the history of art and to the woman's destiny as an inspiring muse of an artist. Schneemann recalls into question the woman's role in the art of the past eras and creates her own erotic morphology[2] in this installation.
