Comparing the female nude paintings created during the past centuries to this expresssionist artwork the viewer states that naturally the female vulva is an integral part in the depiction of women. Expressionist painting is characterized by the use of vivid colors, an expressive line drawing and an expressive brush strking. The painter's emotion while creating the artwork determines the atmosphere in the picture. The depicted woman's vulva is black, emphasized by light colours. In this nude even the positioning of the legs revealing her vulva is different to ancient nudes.
